Chapter 01 - The History: The Original 4

Today marks the 7th anniversary since the formation of our friend group that we call the IMF. Don’t get the wrong ideas. This IMF is not the one you might be thinking. This is not the International Monetary Fund but a friends group that we simply named Indestructible Mutual Friends. I still remember the days of how I first met the 3 most senior members of the group.

It was the first day on Secondary One, where I was transferred to a new school within my living district. The first day of Secondary One was really crowded and full of new and fresh faces that I have never ever seen before. Though there were friends that came from my old primary school to here. In my class, there were around 40 people and among them was a boy who was physically disabled. I knew nothing about him at that time and was seated next to him. His name was Dwayne, and he said that he was like this after birth and he himself did not know what happened during his mother’s pregnancy period. Dwayne was very popular among girls and among the girls that surrounded him was Jess. According to Dwayne, Jess lives very near to where he lives and she always walk him back before heading back to her home. He is the 2nd member of the group and is only 2nd to Jul, the group’s founder.

In the same class there was also an old friend, which is currently the IT expert in our group. His name is Dave. He is kind of cool and looks decent but the only bad thing of him is, he always looked like he did not sleep last night. Dave wasn’t very bright as a student but he has some other talents that went unnoticed. We will come to his talents later. Dave was a school prefect from primary school and he became one too in his secondary days. He is very kind and wasn’t a very stern prefect. This resulted in him not being able to grab the top positions in the prefect position chart but still he did well as both a prefect and a student. He joined the group as member number 4 and is still within the boundaries of the original 4.

The elder among elder was none other than Jul. He was the original founder and the eldest member of the group. He was a bright student but sometimes been overconfident. He is also popular in his style of over expressing his feelings especially during secondary three where he topped the class in exam results and when he got his results, he knelt on the floor and yelled “Thank you God”. Smart and knows quite a number of general events and this however made him a little too proud of himself. His most popular trademark is the middle finger of anger where people around world the practice it. I also knew him from the days of secondary one. One of the anime freaks in the group. . He is also nicknamed the “Preacher by a certain destination” most commonly the roadside and the mamak stall.



Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am the 3rd member of the original four and my name is Dan. I am just an average at studies and suck totally when it comes to physical activities most particularly sports. As usual I am a growing man and will always find true love. People say I like to look at pretty girls, but what’s the problem with that? I too love certain anime shows but not as ‘otaku’ as Jul. I could be the worst person at times but I can keep my cool and I do not act rashly. My deepest crush was on Jess where until now I am still having a little crush on her. Since I am the first person in the story, I will be telling all of my brothers’ events from my point of view. There are also other members in the group but I will introduce them later one by one.

Within the group, the funniest and the mascot of our group is Dwayne. He will always be the one who entertains us all with all his antics especially to Dave. However, the true humor of our group comes from our leader, Jul. He could easily think up of counter-jokes that might give unlimited humor. He is still the “Preacher” and will always be one and there will not be any retiring from it. I remember he once “preached” Dwayne on a hot sunny roadside after Dwayne messed up a certain chance on a certain something that will be explained later. Since then, he earned the nickname “Preacher”. All of us do think that almost 99% of this “preaching” contains nothing but crap, earning him another nickname, “King of Crap”.

The following chapters will be on events that occurred and happened which bonded all 6 of us together. These events were so memorable where they earned different titles which will be used as some of the chapter titles in the later chapters. Without these events, there will be no friendship between the 6 of us and each of us treasures these memories well as we know that we’re now brothers to each other.
